Designed and tested in the harshest conditions deep in the Alaskan mountains, the Tusk Guide Pack is the real deal. This pack is designed to handle any mountaineering task from search and rescue and heli-skiing to the most extreme summit assaults. The Tusk Guide gives you straps and loops enough to attach skis, boards, snowshoes, crampons, ice axes, and ropes, alone or altogether, in just about any orientation you can imagine. There's even a retractable steel cable to hold your skis in diagonal position. The Tusk Guide pack is designed with mountain safety in mind. For winter use you'll find convenient access ports to organize all your snow safety equipment like shovels, probes, and snow saws. For four season safety, the back suspension system can be removed and used as an arm or leg splint complete with a metal bar for support. The full interior of the pack can be accessed through a waterproof size zipper allowing you to keep your heavier items at the bottom for a lower center of gravity without having to unload your entire pack to reach these things. The full front zipper accesses a front compartment separate from the main interior to keep avalanche gear or other items you want separated. The waist belt is easily removable; really, it takes about 30 seconds to remove, to lighten the pack, for use with a harness, or rope hauling. While traveling, you’ll appreciate the double hand loops at the top to relieve the usual finger pinch of carrying heavy bags for long periods of time. This pack is also hydration compatible with exit points on each side for the tube so you can set it up to your left or right handed preferences.
